*HCA asked the government to allot land for the construction of stadiums
*CM Revanth Reddy responded positively
Hyderabad: Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) treasurer CJ Srinivas has gave a request letter to CM Revanth Reddy that in order to achieve all-round development of cricket in the state, a stadium should be built in every district and also in view of the present needs, another international stadium should be built in Hyderabad. Srinivas handed over the HCA letter to Revanth Reddy at the CM’s office on Monday. In this letter, Jagan Mohan Rao requested 100 to 120 acres based on the government price to build a new stadium in the surroundings of Hyderabad. As the current Uppal Stadium has a seating capacity of 37,000, fans facing problems when international and IPL matches are being played. The parking lot is only for 500 vehicles, causing severe traffic problems. Also, HCA has no grounds in the city except Uppal, so they have to rent 30-40 grounds every year. It is not possible to conduct the matches as they do not meet the BCCI standereds in this grounds. Therefore, if the government shows us the land, we will build a new stadium with a capacity of one lakh people to watch a match with advanced features, five practice grounds and a high performance center, and support the all-round development of cricket in the state,” the letter stated. Srinivas said that CM Revanth has suggested that 25 acres of land will be given in each district along with Hyderabad as well as in the joint districts, and good stadiums should be built everywhere and pave the way for the future of young cricketers. Srinivas said that Revanth had ordered CMO Special Secretary Ajith Reddy to take steps for land acquisition. Hyderabad Cricket Association President Jagan Mohan Rao thanked CM Revanth Reddy for his positive response to HCA’s appeal.
